Meet the Mountzes
Matt Mountz —
Years ago, I sat alone in a bar one night drinking. I was not serving God at the time and nothing was going right in my life. Suddenly, out of nowhere, an audible Voice spoke to me, firmly saying, “You don’t belong here!” Looking around, I saw no one. Then, the Voice spoke again, even more firmly, “You do not belong here!” In that moment, I knew it was the Lord speaking to me. That night became a turning point in my life.
Though I was raised Catholic, I was born again at the age 12 when my older brother, Gary, led me to Jesus. But over time, wrong influences, alcohol, and drugs led me astray until the Lord arrested my attention that night in the bar. Everything changed from that point on—I returned to school, became a C.P.A., and I was filled with the Holy Spirit. From a young age, I knew God had called me to ministry, and at last, I pursued Him wholeheartedly. I served as a youth pastor in a church (where I ultimately married Kaye, my pastor), and in 1989, I attended Rhema Bible Training Center.
Today, my passion for ministry is focused on evangelism and encouraging believers to walk in the fullness of the rights and privileges Jesus purchased for us. I lead evangelism workshops and crusades and take teams door-to-door and to the streets to see souls saved and miracles wrought, both in America and abroad.
Kaye Mountz —
I was blessed to grow up with a rich spiritual heritage and a church-going family. At just seven years old, my mom was miraculously healed of cancer—a healing so remarkable that even Mayo Clinic documented it as a miracle. My spiritual legacy runs deep; my grandfather and his cousin founded the first Pentecostal church in Greece, which sparked a movement that continues today with churches across the nation.
Words on a page and the Word of God have always played a pivotal role in my life. After winning numerous writing awards in high school, I was “discovered” by my hometown newspaper and worked as a reporter for five years even before earning a degree in journalism. I’ve ghostwritten and edited multiple books for well-known ministers and served as managing editor at Harrison House Publishers. Matt and I own Mountz Media & Publishing, although currently, I work as an acquisition agent and publicist for Harrison House.
It's never been either journalism or ministry for me; it’s always been both! Years ago, the Lord’s instruction to me was clear: “Write and tell of Me!” That’s what I’ve done since 1980 with a focus on the topics of faith and healing. After losing 130 pounds (and counting!), I’m frequently asked to teach on the GOD DIET. This message isn’t about calorie counting or food selection but divine strategies to lose weight, gain peace, and live better. Losing weight is actually a very spiritual thing to do because the key is walking in the Spirit to overcome the flesh. It will change a lot more than your waistline!
